V-Chat

This page can't be opened on its own

V-Chat has two parts: this screen, and the V-Chat server that sends and receives WhatsApp messages. Double-clicking index.html opens only the screen, so nothing works.

To try it on this computer:

  1. Install Node.js (version 22 or newer) from nodejs.org if you haven't already.
  2. Go back to the expochat folder (one level up from this file).
  3. Double-click Start V-Chat (Windows).bat on Windows, or Start V-Chat (Mac).command on a Mac.
  4. Your browser opens V-Chat at http://localhost:3000.

To use it with your team, on phones, and with real WhatsApp replies, put it online (for example on Railway) as described in README.md.

The 24-hour reply window is closed. WhatsApp only allows an approved template until they message you again.
This contact opted out (replied STOP). They won't receive campaigns.

📱 Phone app and notifications

Install on this device

  1. Open this page in Safari.
  2. Tap the Share button ⬆︎.
  3. Choose Add to Home Screen, then Add.
  4. Open V-Chat from your home screen and turn on notifications below.
  1. Open this page in Chrome.
  2. Tap the ⋮ menu → Install app (or Add to Home screen).

Reply notifications

Want it on another phone? Open on that phone, log in, and install from there.

🔎 Find my WhatsApp IDs

Not sure which numbers go in WA_WABA_ID and WA_PHONE_NUMBER_ID? V-Chat can ask Meta, using your token, and show the right ones.

Adds the people on your sheet to Contacts. No messages are sent. You can message them later from Contacts, the Inbox or a campaign.

Export all chats

Downloads an Excel file with every message: date, time, contact, received/sent, who sent it and delivery status. Photos and documents are listed by file name. The files themselves are kept on the V-Chat server in the data/media folder.
